Thanks to every one that responded to my request for comments and help,
much appreciate your
time and patience. Over the next 2 weeks I expect to submit the first patch
and will follow Mike's
suggestions.

This may not be the right group to ask - but I am beginning to wonder if
there  has been any past effort to
synchronize  binutils and gdb releases.
