GOLD
GOLD is an alternative to the LD linker. It has been designed to act as a drop in replacement for LD although it should run a lot faster. It only supports ELF format files, and it is intended to run on modern multicore systems. It is part of the GNU Binutils project.
GOLD is often invoked directly by the GCC compiler, so many users are unaware of its existence.
