Thank you for the update, suggesting trying with a more recent kernel.
For various reasons I'm forced to stay with the Ubuntu 24.04 LTS releases on
this hardware until end 2026. So I have to ignore this hang behaviour for now.
The hang does not appear to impact my actual usage of systemtap on this
hardware.
I will make space for RHEL 10 on this hardware, to compare the `make
installcheck` behaviour of systemtap 5.6-prerelease on the same hardware.
Afterwards I will update this ticket.
I already observed that on different older hardware that runs RHEL 9.8 (albeit
with only 64GB ram) the systemtap 5.6-prerelease completed the `make
installcheck` without hangs (some some expected, some unexpected errors).
