any plans for an "official" newlib snapshot ?

newlib-1.8.2 is now almost one year old. Are there any plans to
create a new official snapshot ?

If not, would it be considered bad style if I put an "unofficial"
snapshot next to my newlib-linux package ?

Why I'm asking: I'll add a pointer to newlib-linux to
linux/Documentation/initrd.txt, which will probably make more people
want to try newlib on Linux, so I'd like to have a stable code base.
