Meeting: 2026-07-27 @ 0900h EST5EDT

Video/Audio: https://bbb.linuxfoundation.org/room/adm-alk-1uu-7fu

IRC: #glibc on OFTC.
 * glibc 2.44 released on 2026-07-25
  * Carlos: Updating savannah, web, bug and manual rebuild.
  * Master branch is open for development.
  * Andreas: Release procedure notes.
  * Andreas: There are a few architectures that nobody looks at.
  * Discussed the state of the architecutres: https://inbox.sourceware.org/libc-alpha/3V0xKX0yTuebq-SW7D-ZLg@gentoo.org/
  * Toolchain requirements for working ports e.g. m68k coldfire specific type.
  * Noted ColdFire removal here: https://inbox.sourceware.org/libc-alpha/20250915214714.2670074-1-hjl.tools@gmail.com/
  * Andreas: Note that m68k has issues too, that gcc13 was the oldest working. There are bugs and solutions, but it requires developer attention.
  * SIGEV_THREAD v10 for review (Adhemerval)
   * Carlos: I'd like that to go in early.
  * malloc IFUNCs (Yury)
   * Yury: I'll still send it to the mailing list to get RB.
   * Yury: Muhammad is working with upstream gdb on the solutions, and which is the best way to go.
   * Carlos: Posting this to the list is trigger for us to review this issue with the downstream gdb teams.
  * elf: Make string tunables startup-only (Adhemerval)
   * Reviewer Pool: Yury
  * TCB layout changes vs. Chromium Sandbox
    * Florian: Would like to roll all the changes into one release to avoid the compatibility issues.
    * Adhemerval: What does the change do?
    * Florian: We have a lot of padding in the x86 TCB, but removing it is hard. Chrome wants a specific offset fo the tid in the tcb. Chrome wants to reset the tid after calling clone.
   * Guard page issues still have other impact.
   * Adhemerval: I can resend my patchset with the changes on top.
   * Carlos: Florian's request is that this all go in as a series.
  * elf: Remove dead l_need_tls_init static-TLS init path (Adhemerval)
   * Still with Florian. Carlos: I'll send a ping.
  * linux: Inline syscall cancellation to keep wrapper frames observable (BZ 34338) (Adhemerval)
   * Still under review with Wilco. Confirmed.
  * tests: Align THP tests to the 32MB huge-page size (Xi Ruoyao)
   * Changes requested based on Wilco's comments.
   * https://inbox.sourceware.org/libc-alpha/PAWPR08MB8982FC27298922C3528B573783C12@PAWPR08MB8982.eurprd08.prod.outlook.com/
  * [v3] io: fix ftw ABI on MIPS n64 (Xi)
   * Marked accepted.
   * Adhemerval to commit.
