I can verify this.  And I can also say that Solaris' behavious is
different.  Therefore I'll change glibc now (Sun wrote the specs so...)

What I do not understand is why it should have worked for any 2.0.*
release.  I tested it with the 2.0.5 I have here and it didn't work.
