kawa by ftp is difficult

hello,

it seems very hard in 2024 to access some ftp server as 
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/kawa/ <ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/kawa/>

perheaps because i'm in an university, i did not know , i know Bigloo 
Scheme hosted via ftp at INRIA is hard to access to by ftp by me and others.

As bigloo it could be a good idea to add some possibilty of downloading 
the current binary version by https because for Kawa i add to clone the 
gitlab repository to recompile from source and install it on a new laptop.
