Honestly?  No.  MI has `kick ass' features sufficent to justify the move 
now:

the varobj - which makes it possible for the IDE to provide good 
interactive performance
a real syntax - which frees the ide from CLI stupidity such as ``(gdb) 
set x = expression''.
