What erroneous behaviour, what other utilities?

You need to include your console or terminal log, or a copy and paste of
(*relevant* selections of) the input and output as *text*.

always too small, seldom enlarged to show input and output clearly, and unless
you use a portrait monitor and/or windows, often do not include enough needed

You need to demonstrate the problem, showing the commands and outputs, telling
us where your expectations differ from the results, and for files, showing us
details with ls -l or stat, as well as attaching cygcheck.out.
