Snapshots

The last snapshot was made on the 16th.  My guess is that the problem is the
-Dunix Chris put in the specs file for gcc.  Fhandler.h and fhandler.cc use
"unix" as a function argument and this define causes the build to abort since 1
is a numeric literal.
