I was placed on notice of redundancy recently. This will not stop me
hacking on libctf, though it might slow for a while due to job searches
and a modicum of recovery time (thirty years without any breaks of more
than two weeks does take a toll). I intend to remain the maintainer and
not disappear into the sunset. Alan Modra's retirement holds lessons for
us all. :)
In particular, the giant patch series taking shape for the last year in
users/nalcock/road-to-ctfv4 will continue to grow until it reaches
feature parity with the existing code, and then some. God only knows how
anyone will review it: it's 208 patches and growing... though most don't
affect anything outside libctf/ and the CTF headers. It has been
reviewed to some degree internally, and I've been throwing automated
everything at it to try to spot bugs). But it's kind of hard to split
up much (I tried, I failed, though it will be posted as multiple related
series to reduce cognitive load somewhat). It will at least be
bisectable by the simple means of diking libctf/ out of the build system
at the start of the series and putting it back again near the end.
