Thanks for the review!

As far as I can see, any apparent trailing whitespace contained in the
patch was introduced by git format-patch. When applied, this patch
adds no new trailing whitespace to any touched files. Please let me
know if I've misunderstood, and if I need to make a fix somewhere.
