Request for Backport Bug Fixes from Master Branch to older Branches for CVE Resolution

Hi All,

we are working on few CVE's and we could see bug fixes are avialable only in the master branch. we are backporting those patches to older branches of binutils. can we send those patches upstream and will you consider to merge those in the respective binutils upstream branches.

example:
The following commit fixes Bug 32576<https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=32576>:
https://sourceware.org/cgit/binutils-gdb/commit/?id=d4115c2c8d447e297ae353892de89192c1996211

the commit is present only in master branch. can we backport that to binutils 2_44 branch and send it.
