Oh, I thought you meant to introduce an alias option --e8s.

Getting rid of emulations would be nice imo, but besides their removal
apparently affecting cris (where aiui one can have a build with both
emulations enabled), MIPS also uses them. But yes, it wasn't so long
ago that we purged their use from i386.
