Oh, thanks.
Yeah, we've been fighting Autotools to recognize our project as C++
and build everything with PIC. The latest bug seems to be ignoring
"LT_INIT([pic-only])".
I don't know why folks use Autotools. It seems to be a massive
collection of bugs that never get fixed. They just fester.
