I just checked binutils-gdb master: $ find . -name '*.am' | xargs grep cygnus ./bfd/doc/Makefile.am:AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = 1.9 cygnus ./bfd/doc/Makefile.am:# cygnus option. ./binutils/doc/Makefile.am:AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = cygnus ./binutils/doc/Makefile.am:# cygnus option. ./gas/doc/Makefile.am:AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = 1.8 cygnus ./gas/doc/Makefile.am:# cygnus option. ./gold/Makefile.am:# the cygnus option. ./zlib/Makefile.am:AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = 1.8 cygnus However, in gcc master, only the zlib subdir still uses "cygnus", so this looks like no change in toplevel is required.
