I use cygwin on three installations 1. Cygwin 1.5.25, Norwegian Windows XP SP 2 2. Cygwin 1.5.19, US Windows XP SP2 (norwegian keyboard layout) 3. Cygwin 1.5.25, Windows 2003 Server SP 2, US (norwegian keyboard layout) Since installation 2 and 3 are not conencted to the internet, I copied across the package files from installation 1 and ran setup. At some stage installation 1 (which has been updated a few times from the internet) stopped working with the characters æøå on my keyboard. When I pressed the key nothing happened, and also I was unable to paste these characters into my shell. I reconed it had to be a setup issue since this worked well on installation 2 still. I have gone through the FAQ a few times and also done searches on the internet, but I am unable to find anything to help me out. Installation 3 was done yesterday, using the updated package files from instalaltion 1. I did no changes to the initial setup, and it turned out that I had the same problem with æøå also on this machine. I have seen the same problem in rxvt and also using bash (text mode). Thanks in advance for any help. Sincerely, Tallak Tveide
