1.5.25: "ls" slow on the network, "strace" fixes problem...

I have been having a problem with "ls" responding slowly when on my
windows network shares.  While trying to identify the problem, I
realized that when I run "strace ls", everything is fine...

What kind of network problem would be fixed by "strace"?


I've attached some "time ls" and "strace ls" results, and "cygcheck.out".
