I am trying to build a compiler as stated. I am using gcc 4.0 sources. I am using gcc 3.3.3 as build-compiler. I managed to build binutils without problems.
This is part of my environment: PREFIX=/usr/local/lynx PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=x86 PROCESSOR_IDENTIFIER=x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 6, GenuineIntel PROCESSOR_LEVEL=6 PROCESSOR_REVISION=0806 TARGET=ppc-lynx-lynx
I could imagine that support for LynxOS is not fully implemented in this gcc release. Have you any reason to try such a new version? You could try the same with an older gcc 3.x.
--with-local-prefix=${PREFIX}/${TARGET} --enable-languages=c,ada
I'd also leave out ADA in the beginning until the C compiler is working. That should make it easier to find problems.
Regards, Marius
