This is OK.  Please apply.  I think this is safe enough to go on the
branch too, but leave that to Tristan please.

Thanks. Could someone please apply the patch on my behalf? 

Applied, but I had to do so by hand.  Not a big deal on a small patch,
but please fix whatever is messing with leading whitespace on your
patches.

Back-ported to the 2.20 branch.
