I agree with all of this 100%.
I wanted to point out that I have recently been actively blocking any
spam that I see here, so if email@example.com posts spam, I will set up a
mailing list block within an hour or so (assuming I'm awake). That
means that if firstname.lastname@example.org decides to send spam again, they won't be able

(gcc, gdb, binutils, cygwin, insight), I block it for all of those
