This is passing for me (cvs-HEAD).
Perhaps test can be reenabled and bug closed ?

Seems you are right. I just enabled the test and ran it a hunderd times on both
x86 Fedora 7 and x86_64 Fedora Core 6. No problems at all. I'll commit the
change. Thanks.
