Xconq 7.5 pre-release downloads

The Xconq 7.5 pre-release binary packages are updated on a semi-regular basis. The links below lead to directories since the file names usually change when they are updated. If you want the very latest fixes, you will have to build your own application from the CVS sources.

Here is a brief summary of major changes between pre-releases.

Please report any bugs you find to the Xconq mailing list.

Generic

All Interfaces

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/Sources/

Source RPM packages can be found here. These should be able to be built on any system which supports the Redhat Package Manager (RPM); such systems include many Linux distributions, as well as various Unixen (Solaris, Irix, etc...) and Cygwin.

Linux

Binary RPM packages can be found here. These are compiled for 32-bit i586-compatible processors (Intel Pentium family, AMD Duron and Athlon families, etc...).

Common Files

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/Common/

These RPM packages contain files which are common to all the user interfaces on Linux.
Note: You must install a common files package before you install an user interface package.

Tcl/Tk Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/TCL/

These RPM packages are for the Tcl/Tk interface.

SDL Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/SDL/

These RPM packages are for the SDL interface.

Curses (Console) Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/Curses/

These RPM packages are for the Curses text console interface.

Xt/Xaw Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Unix/XtXaw/

These RPM packages are for the old Xt/Xaw interface.

MacOS

Mac Native Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/MacOS/Native/

Here you will find binary packages containing the Xconq Mac Native interface built for either MacOS 9 or MacOS X. The MacOS X (Carbon) application will run also under MacOS 8 and 9 if CarbonLib is installed. However, the Classic application is faster on those systems.

Tcl/Tk Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/MacOS/TCL/

Here you will find a binary package containing the Xconq TCL interface for MacOS. It is a Classic application, so it runs in the Classic environment under MacOS X. The TCL interface is slower than the Mac Native interface and does not have as many features. It is, however, exactly the same interface as is used by the Windows and Unix applications.

SDL Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/MacOS/SDL/

Here you will find binaries of the Xconq SDL interface for MacOS. It is a Classic application, so it runs in the Classic environment under MacOS X. The SDL interface is under development and is far from complete. The package includes just the application, XconqSDL. To install XconqSDL, drop it into the top folder of an existing Xconq installation.

Curses (Console) Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/MacOS/Curses/

Here you will find MacOS binaries of Cconq, the Xconq Curses interface. It is a Classic application, so it runs in the Classic environment under MacOS X. Cconq has a simple 80 x 24 terminal window. It was the first Xconq interface that was developed. The package includes just the application, Cconq. To install Cconq, drop it into the top folder of an existing Xconq installation.

Windows

Tcl/Tk Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Win32/TCL/

Here you will find binary packages and installers for the Xconq TCL interface. Files named *_setup.exe are complete installers. Other files contain binary packages that will run out of the box, but do not install shortcuts etc.

SDL Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Win32/SDL/

Here you will find binaries of the Xconq SDL interface for Windows. It runs on all Windows versions from 95 to XP. The SDL interface is under development and is far from complete. The package includes two files: XconqSDL.exe and SDL.dll. To install XconqSDL, drop both files into the top folder of an existing Xconq TCL installation.

Curses (Console) Interface

ftp://sources.redhat.com/pub/xconq/xconq-7.5.pre/Win32/Curses/

Here you will find Windows binaries of Cconq, the Xconq Curses interface. It will run on all Windows versions from 95 to XP. Cconq has a simple 80 x 24 terminal window. It was the first Xconq interface that was developed. The package includes two files: Cconq.exe and curses.dll. To install Cconq, drop both files into the top folder of an existing Xconq TCL installation.
