Operating systems that are or have been ported to the PowerPC:

MkLinux: Linux for Power Macintosh: Probably the most strongly supported effort. CD-ROM's can be obtained from Prime Time Freeware. It is based on the Mach microkernel from the OSF .
The NetBSD Project: NetBSD-current includes a port to the PowerPC.
Linux on the PowerPC: (I think). A port of Linux to several PowerPC systems including a Motorola embeded board and the 603 machine from BE Inc
Sun Microsystems: Sun ported Solaris to the PowerPC years ago. Unfortunatly, this project is no more.
