Removal of cell terrain (never a good idea!)

I'll think about the issues you raised in this email and the previous
one. If you could provide some test cases with which to test your patch
that would be good. I'm working on a different fix right now, but maybe
I'll be able to analyze and test your fix sometime tomorrow or the day
after.
