Installation problem

Hello,
I'm trying to compile xconq 7.4.1 on Solaris 7 using gcc 2.95.2 and I'm getting
these messages while try to "make " the program :

% make
make: Fatal error in reader: Makefile, line 178: Badly formed macro assignment
Current working directory /tmp/xconq-7.4.1/kernel
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-kernel'

Anybody have a clue to help me ?
