CVS checkout is failing

Actually, it appears to be a bug in the CVS client for windows.  It's
not that the checkout doesn't look right, rather, the command prompt
never returns.  When I did the same checkout on a linux box, it worked
just fine.

It seems to be related to compression--if I remove the "-z" option,
the checkout on windows succeeds.
