There is an attack-range table (and it's mentioned in the ref manual!).
Although I haven't tried it myself, you should be able to use the
"attack" menu item and choose a location. In practice, the games that
have long-distance combat all use firing actions.

All I can think of are the tables stack-protection and
cellwide-protection-{for,against}, which just describe
defensive modifiers. It would be a good idea to add some
notion of attacker support as well.
