Bob-> Yes, this is all deliberate.  The mouseover line displays all
Bob-> the information that the old click-on-empty-cell behavior got
Bob-> you, and the code had to have a bunch of weird special cases
Bob-> to handle the possibility that a location was selected, but
Bob-> that nothing was in it.

I think I understand.  I was quite used to the old method of
using the keyboard for most nearby activities (as mousing was
often a sure way to a sore wrist), and so was surprised by
this different behavior.
