Bug #: 13094
Summary: caller / ucaller functions based on backtraces
Product: systemtap
Version: unspecified
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: tapsets
AssignedTo: systemtap@sourceware.org
ReportedBy: fche@redhat.com
Classification: Unclassified
The current caller* functions in context-unwind.stp are limited to *retprobes.
But based on backtracing, many more places should work; something like:
function caller_n(n) {
f = backtrace ()
sym = tokenize(f, " ")
for (i=1; i<n; i++)
sym = tokenize("", " ")
return sym
}
perhaps with some error generation on n-too-large overflow (let the caller
try/catch).
