new systemtap snapshot available

Hello,
Is it possible to encode systemtap's version number in snapshot file
name. That'll simplify packaging of snapshots (see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=536469)
With git it can be done using for example this command:
echo `git describe --match "release-*" --abbrev=0 HEAD | sed s/release-//`+git`date +%Y%m%d`
This currently gives:
0.9.8+git20090711
