Using systemtap on embedded box

Hi,
    This is a new-comer, and I need some advice on using systemtap on
an embedded linux box. We can't put compiler or source tree on that
live system due to space constrains, and we are trying to find some
way to avoid the build_somewhere_else->transfer->run cycle.
Implementing an interpreter might be a good choice, are there any
other ways?
