SAMPLE_SRC in Makefile.am and Makefile.in

When trying to do a "make dist" after configuring the make was looking for the 
files in the wrong place, $(distdir). Shouldn't that be $(srcdir)? Attached is a 
proposed patch to correct this. Go ahead and check this in?
