Container keys

I'm concerned by the mention in the docs that only "one or two strings,
or a long" is acceptable as a key to the associative containers. Why?
It seems unnecessarily restrictive. Certainly in my use of DTrace it was
rather common to use numerous data items as keys to a single container.
