Version 4.5.2 is the most recent one available. You could try debugging
the crash you are running into. Posting s C stack trace of the spot where
it crashed might help. You can find Windows build instructions in
the mailing list archive. If the problem is in Tcl code, you don't
need to recompile that, you can just edit it in place if you like.
If you are uninterested in debugging the problem yourself, you
might want to look into purchasing a support contract.
