Checking the logs, it looks like Jan-Benedict didn't get a bounce
message:
Aug 18 11:39:09 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 159.226.5.250 -> cygwin<*>cygwin<.>com (mime file: details.zip)
Sep 22 19:01:16 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 64.171.193.148 -> gcc-bugs<*>gcc.gnu.org (mime file: readme.zip)
Oct 8 16:19:07 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 195.71.106.12 -> libc-alpha<*>sources.redhat<.>com (global body)
Oct 10 19:53:40 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 195.71.106.12 -> gcc<*>gcc.gnu.org (global body)
Oct 21 11:37:29 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 195.71.106.12 -> binutils<*>sources.redhat<.>com (global body)
Oct 22 20:05:44 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 195.71.106.12 -> binutils<*>sources.redhat<.>com (global body)
Oct 23 18:21:00 sourceware spam: -!*blocked: jbglaw<*>lug-owl<.>de 195.71.106.12 -> libc-alpha<*>sources.redhat<.>com (global body)
The '-!*' in the syslog output above means:
'-' The mail wasn't saved to /var/spool/mail/spam (Frank, please don't
delete or modify this file)
'*' There was no bounce message
'!' The mail was considered spam regardless of whether the person was subscribed
to the mailing list or to the global-allow list.
The '!' means that what I suggested above may not work.
I don't see any indication that this person has tried to send email
since I switched sourceware over to spamassassin. I've been slowly
removing some of the keyword checks from the old filter since that time
so it is possible that the above email would just go through.
Jan-Benedict, if you still can't send email to binutils, please send an
example of the blocked email to 'postmaster' and I'll fix the filter. I'll
be monitoring the logs looking for any attempt on your part.
