There's no union in fact. The Cygwin file *will* override the newlib
file and that's how it's supposed to be. Actually, after Jennifer's
stuff is in, I'll check if Cygwin can get away with using newlib's
version. It's kind of hacky to have two versions in the tree which
basically provide the same definitions which don't even differ by
architecture.
