iconv on non-Linux targets

Hi,

RTEMS has a Google Summer of Code student who
is trying to use the target independent iconv
code in newlib.  We have some questions:

+ What character code sets names are available?
Where is this in the code?

+ Is there any initialization or support that
we need to provide?
