Jochen,

   I'm not seeing anything obvious:

   Can you append /src/build_newlib/powerpc-eabi/nof/newlib/Makefile?

   Have you tried the most current CVS sources to see if a problem has 
been fixed?  A lot has been done with configuration after 1.14 was created.
