Corinna,

   Please elaborate.  Shaun's problem occurs on Debian and does not 
occur on Fedora Core.  He is also dealing with multilib.  While it may 
be the same problem, I would like to isolate this one.

   Both you and Chris confirmed that the new configuration built fine. 
How do your successful builds differ from that of Ernie above?
