ANSI conformance of newlib

 It is probably not "fully" conformant, but I suppose no
one has done a recent assessment to identify exactly what
the gaps are.

 It might be useful for an interested party to perform an
assessment of newlib conformance to these (or other)
standards and report back to the group what the gaps are.
This would probably be a great "getting to know you" task
for someone interested in getting more involved with newlib
development. They would need access to the standards'
documentation - most larger university libraries would have
these, I think.

 Once the gaps are known & documented, then volunteers can
choose portions to work on, and improve conformance.

 Just a thought.
