RFE: Install stubs et al weak?

Guys:


Could the next release of newlib mark all of the stub functions as
"weak" in the installed libraries?  That would let users override
_write_r by simply providing their own implementation thereof.

Yes, users can currently invoke ar and objcopy to weaken stub
functions in libc.a.  No, they don't seem interested in doing that...
