hppa newlib and gcc 3.1

Hi,

For the first time in ages, it looks like an hppa1.1-proelf
and hppa1.1-rtems gcc is almost buildable.  One problem now is
that newlib/libc/machine/hppa uses .subspa directives.

Does anyone know the rules for replacing .subspa with GNU as
equivalents?  Would someone mind taking a stab at it? :)
