mouse pointer problem

Hello,

Please help me!!!!
after installing Linux, I am finding that my mouse pointer is not in proper shape......! it is in the shape of a WHITE BOX (squared shape) i tried the tool Xconfigurtor and also XF86Setup but it failed..... and also tried to modify XF86Config file, but failed,
is there any other solution so that i can bring the pointer to its original shape.  

PLEASE GIVE ME A SOLUTION
