breaks all targets that don't set libm_machine_dir in
configure.host; all but i386 it seems.  I see this using
instructions at <URL:http://gcc.gnu.org/simtest-howto.html>, for
example for m32r-elf and mmix-knuth-mmixware.  (The latter isn't
listed on that page, though the toolchain builds and works - or
at least did yesterday.)

Please consider fixing this.  Thanks.
