directory support question

Hi,

I am in the process of trying to enhance the RTEMS support for a "name
space" which could be used to someday hang file systems off.  Since we use
newlib, I was wondering what support newlib required for directory reads. 
I was thinking aobut starting on this by making sure the current system
could correctly be used ot walk a directory of device names.
