... want to add that I have now looked carefully to your patch and it
makes sense to me: _M_sz is in fact the actual number of true booleans
in the left hand side mask, thus seems to me the proper way to bound the
number of elements taken from the right hand side array.

Gaby, please consider this change (modulo the testcase changes)
