segfault in libc6-2.2.5:malloc on call from libstdc++

It might, but from your stack trace it looks unlikely.

You should probably try to post the smallest piece of self-contained C++
code that reproduces your problem (C++ library includes are fine, so
<valarray> is ok). That make take a bit of time on your part.
