| I think using the __complex__ C extension is an extra source of the
| bugs.
Not of bug. Of problem in the back-end. That an enterily different
issue. And I'm not playing a semantic game.
I beleive v3's implementation to be pretty right.
| On the other hand you have to make a C libriary which contains the
| complex arithmetic functions.
| This functions are not part of the stdc++ library.
If done appropriately, then no conforming program can tell. So I
think the point is moot.
| ... I think these are
| unnecessary objects in the stdc++ library.
I'm not convinced.
| You can write the complex arithmetic function directly in C++ and in
| this case you can use the C++ math
| functions are declared in header <cmath>.
|
| I think you should use the usual implementation of complex classes with
| the following simple
| data members:
| value_type _M_real, _M_imag;
I still don't isee n what that will simplifiy the specializations as
they're required anyway by the standard.
>From a practical point of view, it is desirable to share C++ complex<>
fonctionnalities with those found in C99.
The real issue is to lobby for a fix in the compiler.
