CXXFLAGS patch evaporated

Yup. Sorry, should have caught this. Can you resubmit? Note that the 
autoconf 1.4 that is needed to run "autoconf" on the source directory is 
cygnus-local, unfortunately. Send me the patches to the .am files, and 
I'll run autoconf, and then check it in. Hopefully autoconf 1.5 (or 
whatever) will be released soon.
